Kow Wong Yeh 九皇爺 @ Ampang

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival Kow Wong Yeh 九皇爺 @ Ampang is a Chinese festival to celebrate the return from heaven to earth of the Nine Emperor spirits, who are worshiped as one deity known aa Mazu(Chinese: 妈祖/天后), the Taoist goddess of the sea and queen of heaven who represents health, wealth and prosperity. The festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth moon in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Devotees flock to temples throughout the country for the festival

The Nine Emperor Gods are part of a spirit-medium cult known locally as Jieu Hwang Yeh. These nine deities are believed to dwell in the stars in heaven under the reign of Mazu.

On the eve of the ninth moon, temples of the deities hold a ceremony to invoke and welcome the nine emperors. Since the arrival of the gods are believed to be through the waterways, processions are held from temples to the sea-shore or river to symbolize this belief. Devotees dressed in traditional white, carrying incense and candles, await the arrival of their excellencies.

A carnival-like atmosphere pervades the temple throughout the nine-day festival. During this period of time, the constant tinkling of a prayer bell and chants from the temple priests are heard. Most devotees stay at the temple, eat vegetarian meals and recite continuous chanting of prayer. It is believed that there will be rain throughout the nine days of celebration.

The ninth day of the festival is its climax. A procession which draws scores of devotees send the deities back home (a waterway such as river or sea). Source from wikipedia

After reaching the destination ... we got to walk all the way to the temple because it is crowded with people and parking is limited ... During our walk, we smell something very stink, mien is running away from the smell of "Chow Taufu" (stink taufu) OMG, so many peoples loves it ...

We reached the gate .... full of blink blink !! looks like an early chinese new year celebration ... mostly chinese business men and hokkien lang will also come to pray and celebrate this Nine Emperor Gods Festival ..

Walking towards to the temple .. we saw lots of stall selling all kind of things such as crystal, services of fortune telling, mole removing services, fruits and etc ... like pasar malam inside ...

So many fortune teller here ... dnt knw which wan got the most super power ... this datuk seems power cause he has long beard .... We indomee also got 1 fortune teller but havent finish his degree yet ... it's our mr. FUNG ... he also going to graduate fung sui and also horoscope.. skill leh !! dnt play play !!

now what to do ?? we are quite newbie here .... mien is all set up (you can see she had tie her hair) .. William is blur and Sean looking at mui mui chai (young girls) .. lots of youngster is here !! Sean did spotted someone ... hahahahah ... top secret ... you know I know !!!

this plate of snacks cost me RM15.00 walau eh ... i kena rompak, I order 3 diffrent things and a can of coke ... i wont think it cost me this much loh ... niama !!
