“Painted Skin” is an action-thriller centered on a vampire-like woman who eats the skins and hearts of her lovers. It is a story that brings audiences into the world of wild imagination about spirits and ghosts, but also explore the realities of human nature and morality at the same time. This is the first time in China that a film based on a supernatural theme with ghostly elements that has been approved by SARFT for production. Painted Skin assembles a tremendous cast from superstar Donnie Yen (Flash Point, Dragon Tiger Gate) to Asia stars; Zhou Xun (Perhaps Love, The Banquet), Zhao Wei (So Close) and rising China’s actor Chen Kun.

Donnie Yen escaping the truth because Zhao Wei had chosen Chen Kun as lover. Running away doesnt solve anything, it gives hatred, sadness, negative and most of all loosing the faith of love.

Zhao Wei sacrifice anything for love just to see her husband (Chen Kun) safe and happy. She accepted her husband and she's willing to die for her husband because she love him so much.

Chen Kun loves her wife (Zhao Wei)but cant resist the seduce of Zhou Xun. At the end he did felt in love with her (Zhou Xun) but he had a responsible as a husband to protect Zhao Wei and she's the only one can be his wife.

Zhou Xun loves Chen Kun and willing to anything just to get Chen Kun love. She loves him as much as Zhao Wei but she's in the wrong timing. At the end she did sacrifice herself just to see Zhou Xun gets what he wants.

in this movie, we can see that love, there's actually no limit. if you really love someone, you will learn how to forgive, accept, and love of course. the matter its just time and setting, if you are in the right moment and right person, everything would be as smooth as possible. you may have love someone passionately, but if you are in the wrong time, wrong setting, or even wrong person, try not to harm his or her loved one. At the end of the story, she learned. she learned how to accept. accept what and who is belong to her. Accepting its also call as love.

love can be meaningless , love can be reason , love can be anything. Most important Accept, be Responsible and Sacrifice. These few words can be lots of meaning and it depends on how do you see it. Very deep by yet very strong meaning. If you love someone so much, accept who is he/she and yet be responsible on the role which you are carrying and yet ready to Scarified things around you. (Sacrifice doesn't mean death, it could be time, giving up someone who you love, just to make him/her happy or giving up someone who loves you but you have a responsible role to play) Accepting means forgive. Be happy with your love, treasure your love, love don't come easy ....
