THE all-girl Korean pop group Wonder Girls, after taking a brief rest from their 27-stop tour in the US and Canada which ended last July, will thrill

Malaysian fans at a live music concert at Arena Of Stars, Genting Highlands on Dec 11 at 8pm.

The Wonder Girls, originally made up of Sun-Ye, Ye-Eun, So-Hee, Sun-mi, and Hyuna, were introduced through MTV Wonder Girls, which was filmed and directed by MTV.



The group debuted in early 2007 with the mini album, The Wonders Begin, but underwent a change in band members just months later with Hyuna leaving and Yubin coming in. The new team released its first full album, The Wonder Years, in September of which its main track Tell Me was a huge hit.

The girls' popularity has been soaring ever since. They released single So Hot in June 2008, followed by Nobody a few months later which became one of the most popular songs of the year. Their unique choreography and dance steps - the highly addictive finger point and tap dance — sparked a viral dance craze around the world.

The Wonder Girls marked their career milestone as the first act from Asia to enter the American Billboard Hot 100 in 30 years with the infectious Nobody, which peaked at No. 76.


Wonder Girls has scooped numerous awards including Artist of the Year at the 18th Seoul Musical Award, the Best Female Group and the Best Music Video, among others.

It won exposure in the US, touring with the Jonas Brothers in 2009 at 45 live performances. The group excels in dance and vocal ability. Every jab, spin and twist is polished and timed.

In March 2010, new member Hye-Rim joined the group after Sun-mi decided to take a study break. This did not stop the Wonder Girls from continuing to soar. They recently made a successful comeback to the Korean music scene with 2 Different Tears, which conquered numerous online and offline music charts.


Jointly organised by Star Planet, Hua Yea Multimedia and Speedy Entertainment, this is its first Malaysian tour and the concert will portray all different sides of the Wonder Girls.

The Wonder Girls are a South Korean girl group.Their producer and manager is singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and the Wonder Girls are signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment.Each of the five original members were selected through auditions. Debuting in early 2007, they became popular in the fall of that year with the song "Tell Me."They have scored three consecutive #1 hit singles: "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody". In 2008, they won two Daesangs ("Artist of the Year" Awards).

The group began their entry into the American market in 2009, with lead single "Nobody"; the single became the first song by a Korean group to enter the Billboard Hot 100. They are co-managed in the United States by JYP Entertainment and Jonas Group
