Portraits are the most photographed genre in photography, from one's family snaps to a full studio session and not forgetting those special occasions. Contemporary portraits however may be derived from a wide range of disciplines in photography, from social images like documentary, reportage and editorial fields, to the more considered studio or 'staged' styles of conceptual imagery.
Launching 1 November, the KL PHOTOAWARDS 2009 is open to all photographers internationally in 2 categories : Professional and Non-Professional.
Entrants may submit up to 6 images either in colour or black & white, individually titled or as a series.
The judges are seeking innovative and creative interpretations of 'portrait' in contemporary photographic practice.
