Call for Participants
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the World Human Rights Day falls on December 9th, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Alumni Network (FAN) Malaysia is celebrating the day with an upcoming exhibition and a photography contest with the theme of ‘Freedom'. FAN Malaysia realizes the needs to advocate public awareness on the meanings of Freedom through photo exhibition and to enlist the public support the cause of Freedom. It also hopes that the contest and the exhibition will help to raise public awareness on the meaning of freedom in a broader context.
FAN Malaysia recognises the importance for the society irrespective of age, background and race to come together to observe the World Human Rights Day together.
Interested participants can submit their photos between October 15th and November 15th, 2008. Photos received by the organiser will be displayed at the exhibition and to be sold.
The exhibition will take place between December 1 and 7, 2008 at the Galeri Pelita Hati, No 22 Jalan Abdullah, off Jalan Bangsar, 59000 Kuala Lumpur.
Apart from the exhibition, the organiser has also prepared a few other programmes including the reading of freedom poets, performance from independent artists Meor and Black, presentation from Wong Hoy Cheong and installation of arts.
The exhibition will be officially closed by the Deputy Information Minister, YB Tan Lian Hoe on December 7, 2008, where the winners for the contest will also be announced at the same event.

Prize: RM500 for 13 winners (the end result will be calendar 2009 therefore 13 winning photos will be awarded).
