The Phone Guitar, a project by a Dutch developer, places two Android phones, an iPod Touch and two Windows phones next to each other on a guitar frame and uses apps on the devices to play music.
As the video clip below shows, the developer ‘Steffest’ plays a version of Cracklin Rosie and its not the cacophony you would expect.
The original idea was to create the same mobile app on all three mobile platforms, he says. The app would be a small piano and drum sequencer.
That didn’t quite work out. “Audio latency is a b*tch and building the app from the same source proved to be possible but unusable,” writes Steffest on his blog. “I ended up writing it three times: in Java for Android, in C# for Windows Mobile and in Objective-C for iPhone.”
Instead what he did was combine his homebrewed app with other programs including the Pocket Stompbox for Windows Mobile that’s good for real time effects. There’s also iShred, an iPhone electric guitar app in the mix.
To play them all at once, he taped them on a piece of wood together with a battery powered speaker.

We've seen our share of pinhole cameras before, including a room sized pinhole and one that uses Polaroids. However, we've never seen a pinhole camera as nice as the one from Francesco Capponi (AKA dippold) before.
You can print it on paper (A4! go Europe!) so all you really need to have is a printer (and if you are reading this via computer, I assume you have one right to your left). You'd need a thick paper though, or some cardboard, to glue your instructions to. You can probably use the cereal box leftovers from the snoot you made.
Or better yet, print it on a big A4 sticker and mount it on that cereal box.

The design is very slick and it uses a dying breed of 35mm film.

PETALING JAYA: DiGi Telecommunications today unveiled a mobile WiFi portable wireless router to the market, which the company claimed is the first of its kind in Malaysia.
Best known as MiFi, the device is about the size of a typical mobile phone. It comes with a SIM card slot and works in a similar way to current WiFi routers that allow users to share their mobile broadband connection.
Users can connect up to five different WiFi-enabled devices such as a laptop, iPod touch, PSP and others to the MiFi.
It is like having your own mini WiFi hotspot at home or while on the go, DiGi said in a press release.
No price was announced but the MiFi device is currently available for pre-booking via the company's website. The pre-booking will close on June 20 and special offers await the early birds, DiGi said. (theStar.com.my)
